Host an Educational Workshop or a Fundraiser to Support Believers Bail Out
Throughout the year, Believers Bail Out relies on your efforts to host two types of events in your mosques, universities, schools, and communities: 1. Educational workshops on money bail, and 2. Fundraisers to support believers who require money bail support. In Ramadan we ask that you host an Iftar in your community, the fast-breaking meal, in support of Believers Bail Out. If you would like to host an event but need planning support, please feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Depending on the size and complexity of your event, you’ll want a few weeks to plan it, whether it requires a meal, a short talk, a video, or fundraising.
BBO provides presentation content and information to assist you in hosting an event. As an example of the content we provide, please view/download the “Sample Iftar Agenda and Invite” to the right, or download the full BBO Iftar toolkit below.
These events should have three main goals:
Raise money to bail out Muslims who are being held in pretrial incarceration and immigration confinement without having been convicted of a crime
Educate ourselves and our communities about money bail, mass incarceration, deportation, and their intersections with racism
Lay the groundwork for future anti-racist work in our communities grounded in our religion and our faith
